Two years after the release of V’Ger, Jim Putnam returns as Mt. Wilson Repeater with Burned Up Ghost. This new album from the leader of the critically adored Radar Brothers has touched down on Earth.
Like his previous releases as Mt. Wilson Repeater, Burned Up Ghost was written and recorded entirely by Putnam, this time while experiencing life-changing events such as picking up and moving out of Los Angeles, and watching friend and family dynamics change around him. “There’s definitely a story in this album, like a movie with a linear narrative,” he says. “It starts with the destruction of the familiar, struggling with one’s existence and mental health, and then losing that battle and slipping away. I wanted the songs on the album to flow together seamlessly, like scenes in a film.”
