With Radar Brothers on hiatus since 2013’s Eight, Jim Putnam revives his exploratory solo project Mt. Wilson Repeater with the new album V'Ger, his talent for experimental melody and composition on full display. Ten years after its first incarnation in 2008, the Repeater revisits with lush, mystical songs written on baritone guitar.
Created on his own terms between tours as a live sound engineer with The Flaming Lips and Trans Am, Putnam’s total DIY solo effort was first captured on 4-track cassette. The songs were engineered and mixed at Putnam’s L.A. backyard studio. V'Ger serves as a welcome reintroduction to Putnam’s languid sunbaked musical dreamscape.
