“Future” is the closing cut off Sneaks’ new album It’s a Myth, a release that the Washington Post says lands “in a sweet spot between early hip-hop and minimal post-punk.” Premering on Tidal, Sneaks’ Eva Moolchan is sharing the Kasandra Belén Díaz-directed music video for the song, filmed on a recent journey to Mexico. Tidal Díaz elaborates on the approach:

We shot the video in Xochimilco, in a cool swamp full of boats for hire. After a little bit of haggling with the boat owners, we got a really good price and sailed away. Though we didn’t really have a plan for the video and improvised most of it, Eva was amazing, playing around and dancing the whole time. I loved filming her—she has the true spirit of an artist, and she looks beautiful in the video

It was strange to see the contrast between the swamp banks littered with trash, the houses of the people who live there, and these colorful boats. We were amazed to see how a swamp that seems unchanging can be so full of creatures and life.
