Atlanta’s The Rock*A*Teens serve up some psychedelic noir with their music video for “Turn and Smile” off the band’s first album in 18 years, Sixth House! The animated video follows the lyrics of the song closely as we watch a double-cross unfold over four glorious minutes of RATs music that Pitchfork recently described as “both proudly old-fashioned and, in their own humble way, visionary.”

Our Cabbagetown heroes have also announced a handful of shows in September. Brooklyn Vegan caught their show at Elsewhere last month, describing it as “a 60-minute freight train that pounded through 16 songs in lurches, kicks, and utter sonic bombast.” Sounds like you won’t wanna miss it! A full list of dates can be found below.

On Friday, Aquarium Drunkard published a new Rock*A*Teens interview conducted by Will Sheff of Okkervill River. If it feels like it was written from the viewpoint of a superfan, that’s because it was! Carve out some time for it, and make sure you click play on Will Sheff’s RATs mixtape at the bottom.

Pick up Sixth House on CD, LP, or limited-edition translucent green Peak Vinyl at the merch table in September! You can also grab it today in the Merge store, your favorite local record shop, or listen to Sixth House now digitally.
