Superchunk is hitting the road this September, and they’re bringing Australian garage rock trio and Merge Records stars Cable Ties along for the ride. Beginning September 8 in Richmond, VA, the tour will make several stops across the northeast before culminating at New York City’s famed Bowery Ballroom on September 16. See below for the full list of dates.
Since releasing 2022’s acclaimed Wild Loneliness, Superchunk have been as busy as ever, releasing the “Everything Hurts” b/w “Making a Break” 7-inch and playing their first SXSW showcase since 2018.
They are joined by Cable Ties, making their long-awaited live debut in the United States after building a reputation for being one of the most thrilling live acts in their home country. They recently announced their third album, All Her Plans, which received a great deal of global praise from the likes of Stereogum, BooklynVegan, NME, The Line of Best Fit, and more, including a home-turf shout from Rolling Stone. “Time For You,” the soaring lead single from All Her Plans, is available to stream now.
More Superchunk news is on horizon, but in the meantime, prepare yourself for this can’t-miss bill by revisiting Wild Loneliness. Tickets for all shows go on sale Friday, April 14, at 10am local time.
