On Thursday, November 6, Durham, North Carolina’s Motorco Music Hall will host Storm Relief for Jamaica, a benefit supporting the Rockhouse Foundation’s storm recovery effort in Western Jamaica in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa. The bill features DJ Ras J, Rosali (solo), Dub Addis, the Mountain Goats (solo), and Superchunk. Tickets are $25, and all proceeds will go to the Rockhouse Foundation. Tickets are on sale now. Rockhouse Foundation is also taking donations for Hurricane Melissa relief via GoFundMe.
The newly-added date is the first of Superchunk’s last three shows of the year, Rosali’s final 2025 show, and a rare John Darnielle solo performance before the Mountain Goats resume touring in November. More information on all dates below.
About the Rockhouse Foundation:
HELP US REBUILD THE SAV INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY AFTER HURRICANE MELISSA
Hurricane Melissa brought devastating winds and flooding to Western Jamaica. While Negril was spared the worst, Savanna-la-Mar — the parish capital and home to The Sav Inclusive School — was hit hard.
The storm made landfall less than ten miles from our campus. Roofs were torn off, classrooms flooded, therapy rooms and learning materials destroyed, and our grounds left badly damaged. Many in the surrounding community suffered even greater loss.
The Rockhouse Foundation Hurricane Recovery Fund will provide direct support to rebuild the Sav Inclusive School and to help the students, families, and teachers most affected by the storm.
Your donation — large or small — will go directly toward:
- Repairing and rebuilding damaged classrooms and therapy spaces
- Replacing essential educational and therapeutic equipment lost to flooding
- Restoring a safe, nurturing environment where our students can return and thrive
- Providing direct assistance to the hardest-hit families, students, and teachers
For more than 20 years, the Rockhouse Foundation has been transforming education in Western Jamaica — investing over US $11 million to build schools and strengthen communities. Now, as our neighbors face this devastating aftermath, we’re asking for your help.
Every act of kindness brings us closer to reopening our doors and continuing to change young lives through inclusion, love, and learning.
The Rockhouse Foundation is a registered Jamaican charity and a New York–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit. For more information, visit them online.
