Hollie Cook soundtracks a summer that never ends with new Black Science Orchestra remix of “Move My Way”
Queen of modern lovers’ rock Hollie Cook revisits Happy Hour standout “Move My Way” with a new remix by house legends Black Science Orchestra. BSO’s take on the song emphasizes its undeniably danceable rhythm, with Cook’s voice riding a wave of reverb out beyond a sun-drenched horizon.
Of the remix, Black Science Orchestra’s Ashley Beedle says:
It was a real pleasure working on Hollie Cook’s “Move My Way.” Definitely a Black Science Orchestra remix for the summer that will never end.
Hollie invites us to rave on “Move My Way" which she describes as “my attempt at a party song. It’s inspired by good times at the Notting Hill Carnival, a huge celebration of Caribbean culture in London that is loved so dearly by myself and my friends. I wanted to pay homage to my favorite festivity and encapsulate feelings of joy, love, and lust, and never wanting the party to end.”
Her soulful directness on Happy Hour is relatable and authentic. “Making this music that I love, I do turn deep inside myself. It makes me explore a lot of my truths and feelings that I don't wish to shy away from, and it feels like a release to turn them into songs.”
Along with the new remix, Black Science Orchestra shares a dub version of “Move My Way.” Album track “Unkind Love,” a classic tale of giving in to a toxic love affair, rounds out this tidy digital EP that showcases the stories of both celebratory and misguided love found on Happy Hour.

“Happy Hour refines [Hollie Cook’s] muscular sound, which echoes tough British roots acts like Aswad as much as the silk sheet approach of Janet Kay and Carroll Thompson.” —Pitchfork
NPR All Things Considered Interview with Hollie Cook
“This is a perfect summer album and Hollie’s honeyed harmonies remain the star, but Happy Hour is the sound of Cook truly finding her own voice, and cheers to that.” —BrooklynVegan
