Today, Hollie Cook shares “Golden Dub” featuring acclaimed trombonist, composer, and producer Rosie Turton. It’s the second single from Cook’s forthcoming Happy Hour in Dub, out August 11. Listen to and share “Golden Dub” now, and pre-order Happy Hour in Dub on CD and LP from the Merge store.

“Golden Dub” takes the Bond theme–influenced “Gold Girl” and doubles down on the dramatics, bringing the strings and Turton’s trombone to the foreground while Cook’s own stretched-out vocals shroud its eponymous femme fatale in further mystery.

Happy Hour in Dub is a heavenly set of dub versions to pair with Hollie’s critically acclaimed 2022 album Happy Hour. Her first full dub record since 2012, Happy Hour in Dub was coaxed into being by close listening of the original album’s alluring, modern lover’s rock.

Hollie will be hitting the UK festival scene later this month, beginning with Secret Garden Party 2023 in Peterborough. In September, she’ll be visiting the United States for the first time since 2018. See below for dates!
