Hiss Golden Messenger is thrilled to announce A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Live at EartH Hackney, the latest in a series of live performances recorded on the Hiss Mobile Recording Unit (HMRU for short). Taken from their June 15, 2022, show at London’s EartH Hackney (Evolutionary Arts Hackney), A Midsummer Night’s Dream sees the band plunging deep into the Hiss Golden Messenger catalog, playing 14 originals and Merle Haggard’s “Mama Tried,” which was an electrifying standard during their 2021–22 tour.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is available on nugs.net and Bandcamp, where 50% of sales proceeds benefit PORCH-Durham, an organization established in 2011 with the mission of providing supplemental food to children and families facing hunger in Durham County, North Carolina. Each release in the live series partners with a different organization doing good work in our collective universe.

Curious about hearing a scorching Saturday night show in Charleston? Highlights from two legendary sold-out nights in Denver? A spare and intimate solo performance in the middle of winter from frosty London? Or even demos and sketches that turned into songs you know and love on Hiss albums? All of these, and much more, are fair game with this live archival series. Stay tuned for all future releases by signing up for the Kitchen Table Speculator, a rambling semi-regular newsletter written by M.C. Taylor, at hissgoldenmessenger.com.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream was recorded and mixed on the Hiss Mobile Recording Unit by Luc Suèr, and mastered by Chris Boerner. Design and layout by T.W. Rushing at Not Bad Illustration.
