These acoustic versions of songs from What a Time to Be Alive are not the demos for the songs; those were recorded on electric guitar with drum machines. These were recorded after the album versions, which is why we still get to have Katie Crutchfield's voice on "Erasure." Just a way to hear the songs with more space and less distortion.

The cover is by the incredible artist Emma Kohlmann (who also gave us a great piece for the "I Got Cut" 7-inch auction for Planned Parenthood last year). I love this drawing, and the expression on the creature's face sums up a lot of moods from the past year and a half.
