The Decemberists honored me with a cover of one of my songs a few years back, so when I was asked to choose a KRS band to cover, the choice was clear. I’ve always loved this song—it’s always felt to me like some sort of string band hymn reinterpreted into an Exile-era Stones track. My idea was to re-reinterpret it back into some kind of hypertraditional form. This song feels forever to me.
