Flesh Wounds are a rock'n'roll band from Carrboro, NC with Laura King on drums and Dan Kinney and Montgomery Morris on guitars. Laura, Dan and Montgomery began playing together in 2011, as they describe it, "some semi-legit side-action for all three players" away from their other projects. They quickly determined that the music they were making together was "doper by far" than their other bands and Flesh Wounds became a reality. The band released a cassette on All Day Records in December of 2012 which "burned up the charts in a few zip codes," but this marks their first vinyl release.
The songs were recorded in two days with Wesley Wolfe at his house and at All Day Records in Carrboro, NC.
Montgomery Morris shared more details about the songs:
I made up all the words and chords and Laura made up all the drum parts and Dan made up all the 2nd guitar parts. This is a real career spanning collection! "Bitter Boy" was the very first Flesh Wounds song and we made that one up in December 2011. "Kennel Cough" is one of the newest Flesh Wounds songs and I think we made that one up in December 2013. "Let Me Be Clear" is kind of old but not "Bitter Boy" old. All three songs are about things that pissed me off and I made up songs about them so they wouldn't piss me off any more. That's kind of thematic, I guess.
