We are delighted to rescue Wye Oak’s cover of the Kate Bush song “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” from the vanishing archives of the AV Club’s beloved Undercover series, and release it across all digital streaming platforms today. Recorded live in 2014 in the legendary round room of the AV Club offices in Chicago, Jenn and Andy rose to the challenge set forth by the AV Club editors.

Wye Oak’s take on “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” is bold and unnerving; Jenn and Andy made five appearances on Undercover—the most of any artist—beginning with 2010’s cover of The Kinks’ “Strangers.” Lauded by press and fans alike, they were invited back to perform Danzig’s “Mother.” Now, “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” joins them in official release, reclaiming its stake as one of the great covers of this timeless classic.

Listen to and share “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) - Live at the AV Club, 2014” now.
