Last night on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Ex Hex tore through the raucous “Cosmic Cave” from It’s Real, and today, we have the video evidence to prove it:

Ex Hex has been non-stop in 2019. With North American and European tours already underneath their belts, support dates completed for Belle & Sebastian and closing out MRG30 Fest with the utmost style, the band opens for Mac DeMarco tonight in Prospect Park before a run of shows with The Raconteurs and more headline dates on both coasts after that. Listen to & purchase It’s Real on CD, LP, or “rainbow shiner” Peak Vinyl in the Merge store or at one of these shows!

"Garage rock snarl, arena-scale roar, and real world hurt… It’s Real rejigs rock history in both sound and spirit." —Rolling Stone

"Ex Hex's blasts of rock and roll will always inspire fist-pumping and sing-alongs. But when Timony, Wright and Harris deploy their exuberant music as an entry point to fearlessly reveal more of themselves — trauma and sadness, regrets and anger — It's Real lays a path for working through painful moments and re-empowering one epic riff at a time." —NPR

“Ex Hex mine the areas of arena rock that have been forgotten to pop history, pledging allegiance to echo, overdrive, phasers and harmony, the very things that powered the airwaves in the days before MTV.” —Pitchfork

"Technically skilled and wildly inventive, the rock nomad Mary Timony is routinely held up as a guitar god." —NY Times

"The band’s provenance may lie in an artsy milieu of the East Coast and Generation X, yet its heart belongs to a mall from Fast Times at Ridgemont High.” —New Yorker

"...a cool balance between sunny Cali rock reverie and classic heavy metal riffage. It’s a little bit 'Kiss Me Deadly' and a little bit 'Cherry Bomb.'” —Vulture
