We’re throwing back to this time last year when we were all together celebrating 25 years of our favorite independent music! Relive the Merge 25 festival at our Squarespace page, which features performance videos and live photos from the event. Celebrate throwback Thursday with us today by posting a photo from your favorite Merge 25 set or of your favorite Merge album on Instagram or Twitter. Tag it with #Merge25 for a chance to win a Merge baseball cap!
To commemorate our 26th birthday, we are putting all of our Merge 25 reissues on sale through July 30 in our store. There you will also find a very limited number of complete Or Thousands of Prizes box sets. In addition, The Merge Records Companion (2nd Edition) ebook, part of the Or Thousands of Prizes box set, can now be purchased separately at Amazon and iTunes.
For Merge’s quarter-century milestone, Google Play made a half-hour documentary about the label. Also, be sure to check out special behind-the-scenes footage of Hiss Golden Messenger, Superchunk, Saint Rich, and Telekinesis covering Spoon, Wye Oak, Mikal Cronin, and The Magnetic Fields, respectively, for the Merge-on-Merge recordings that were available exclusively as part of Or Thousands of Prizes.
Thanks again for being the world’s most awesome music fans. We wouldn’t be here without you!
