As if news of a Tanlines excursion through California ahead of Grammy festivities wasn’t a nice enough way to celebrate Eric Emm and Jesse Cohen’s return, the duo is back today with “Vanishing Point,” the A-side of their upcoming 7-inch, the first for ultracool SF imprint Lone Limited Recordings, a small-batch label based in California specializing in unique single-run releases—made once and never again! Listen to the brand-new track now, and pre-order “Vanishing Point” b/w “Barefoot” today!
Leaning further into the sonic territory established by The Big Mess standouts like “New Reality” and “Burns Effect,” “Vanishing Point” is a sleek machine, Emm’s sultry croon carried by driving guitars and a Cohen keyboard solo that has shades of classic rock and modern pop. The track features !!!’s Rafael Cohen on lead guitar and a straight-off-Broadway piano ballad pivot led by longtime Tanlines collaborator producer Patrick Ford (Glasser, Islands).
“A robust and energetic emotional banger inspired by the twists and turns of an unexpected love affair last season on Vanderpump Rules, which I had a strangely close personal view of ahead of its broadcast,” says Emm of the track.
Tanlines’ California (Grammy) jam kicks off on January 31, running through San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Their east coast jaunt gets underway March 21 in Philadelphia and wraps up March 23 in NYC. Tickets are on sale now!
