No strangers to the road or each other, Superchunk and Fucked Up are joining forces this February for a tour of the West Coast. The co-headlining tour begins February 1 at Music Box in San Diego, CA. Fucked Up will have a head start on Superchunk, playing a January 30 show at The Underground in Mesa, AZ. From there, the two bands will make their way north, culminating in a February 8 show at Vancouver’s Rickshaw theater.

2023 was a busy year for Superchunk, as the 30th anniversary of On the Mouth and the release of Misfits & Mistakes: Singles, B-sides & Strays had the touring lineup of Mac McCaughan, Jim Wilbur, Laura King, and Betsy Wright pulling rarely performed songs from the band’s storied catalog at home and abroad.

Similarly, Fucked Up toured extensively in support of their 2023 stunner One Day. Unable to record the album in the same studio, their tours over the course of 2023 represent the first time they were able to play those songs together. Fucked Up toured with The Halluci Nation and The Damned, releasing a pair of collaborative tracks with the former, as well as putting out three more songs from the One Day sessions, reasserting themselves as one of the most prolific, inventive bands going.

Tickets for this double bill of Merge Records superstars go on sale Friday, November 17, at 10am local time.
