Long. Live. Sneaks! To celebrate the release day of Highway Hypnosis (out everywhere today), Eva Moolchan has shared a music video for “Ecstasy” which you can watch below.

From director Aabid Youssef:

“Ecstasy” is a stellar example of Sneaks’ new expansive HD sound and my favorite song from Highway Hypnosis. My goal with the video was to really explore and enhance the celestial qualities, hypnotic melodies, and futuristic tones of the track, but in a monochromatic frame. We shot the video around midnight in a Toronto studio—it was really fun having Sneaks interact and dance with the combination of projections, computer graphics, and the starscape.

Advance praise for Highway Hypnosis:

“terse, minimal, homemade-sounding and underhandedly catchy: dance music with wary but self-affirming messages” —New York Times

“Like Neneh Cherry, M.I.A., Micachu and other singular stars before them, Sneaks has both the punk spirit and pop sense to carve out her own path in music. Highway Hypnosis is simply the sound of her revving the engine.” —NPR

“a patchwork of hip-hop, post-punk, rave, and more, and it comes with a similarly raw, utterly unique energy to M.I.A.’s groundbreaking early releases.” —Pigeons & Planes

“a diverse palette of feminist punk anthems that are intersectional at their core.” —Highsnobiety

“Moolchan’s minimalist electronic post-punk and hip-hop is somewhat enigmatic: Her rhythmic lyrics are like a mosaic of symbolism” —Paper Magazine
