Hiss Golden Messenger’s deluxe box set Devotion: Songs About Rivers and Spirits and Children is out now in the Merge store and wherever records are sold, including at the merch table for HGM’s final 2018 shows! Devotion features remastered reissues of the classic Hiss albums Bad Debt, Poor Moon, and Haw as well as Virgo Fool, a rarities compilation that’s only available physically as part of this collection. Both the 4-CD and 4-LP sets are housed in a cloth-wrapped, foil-stamped slipcase and feature original iconographic artwork by Sam Smith, an exclusive foldout poster, full lyrics, and new liner notes by New Yorker writer Amanda Petrusich and MOJO editor John Mulvey. The vinyl set also includes a digital download of all tracks.

For further reading on Devotion, we recommend Noisey’s extensive interview with M.C. Taylor as well as Indy Week’s look back at the early catalog ahead of Hiss Golden Messenger’s big hometown show tonight at Durham’s Carolina Theatre. In December, Taylor and his band will embark on their final run of shows for the year, including stops in Boston, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, and DC. Don’t miss Hiss!
