Today, Destroyer shares “Times Square,” the latest single from Poison Season. The album will be in stores on August 28.

With a Lou Reed-referencing guitar strum intro that leads slowly into an explosion of sound—the saxophone, piano tinkering, heavy drums that somehow feel at ease within this wide collection of sounds—it's easy to tell why Dan Bejar states that this was the most natural song to write.
Perhaps this is the reason why the music so greatly personifies what the lyrics are about: the raw, unfiltered emotions of stepping onto New York soil for the first time. Fear, wondering, apprehension, and excitement—it's difficult not to fall in love with the city, or, as the song states more specifically, “fall in love with Times Square.”
