Having released their latest album FLOTUS late last year to critical acclaim—including Album of the Year mentions in publications such as USA Today, MOJO, The Atlantic and The Guardian—Lambchop have shared a new version of album highlight “The Hustle” entitled “The Hustle Unlimited.” Backed with their cover of Prince’s “When You Were Mine,” the 12-inch single will be released August 8 and is available for pre-order now.

Speaking of the new version of the track, Lambchop’s Kurt Wagner said: “Sometimes things can get out of control, an impromptu idea is presented, and you take that idea to a logical conclusion to see where it goes. In this case, Tony Crow [piano] came up with a rather ‘Love Unlimited Orchestra’ take on ‘The Hustle’ during a rehearsal with Andy Stack [drums, Wye Oak]. It seemed nuts at the time, but being rather nuts ourselves, I thought we should try recording it and taking it all the way to full realization. Plus, it was a great way to capture Andy’s tenure with us in the studio.”

Lambchop have announced a tour of Europe and the UK in August, which include London’s Islington Assembly Hall and Green Man Festival. See a full list of announced dates below. Pick up “The Hustle Unlimited” 12-inch at the merch table or in the Merge store, and grab FLOTUS and the recently reissued Is a Woman while you’re at it!
