Hiss Golden Messenger unveils North American and European performance schedule for summer
U Need Hiss Good Buddy, and buddy, you’re gonna get what you need: Hiss Golden Messenger will be playing a plethora of shows through the summer.
Festival appearances? Check. New Orleans Jazz & Heritage, Newport Folk in Rhode Island, Forecastle in Kentucky, and Winnipeg Folk, to name just a few.
Sharing stages with fellow heavy hitters? Certainly. Shows announced with Jason Isbell, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, Trampled by Turtles, and a special “one nite only” with John Prine at the Ryman Auditorium in October.
Legendary stages? Yep. Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, Forest Hills Stadium in New York, and NPR’s Mountain Stage are all there.
Hiss Golden Messenger principal M.C. Taylor will be making his annual summer pilgrimage to Portland, Maine, for a solo performance at One Longfellow Square, too. Following that, those in the Netherlands and UK will be able to catch Hiss in duo formation, including an afternoon at End of the Road Festival. A full list of dates can be found below.

Hallelujah Anyhow was released last September to much acclaim, including the A.V. Club who said, “Unsurprisingly, the stellar Hallelujah Anyhow often feels like a restless fever dream. Taylor’s elegant lyrics scan like stream-of-conscious poetry: Historical nods and ethereal characters (e.g., Jenny of the Roses, Rhode Island Red) combine with real-life references, giving the songs a mythical quality.” Listen to and share “When the Wall Comes Down” and “Domino (Time Will Tell)” before exploring LP/CD/digital options here.
