Today, Hiss Golden Messenger releases Sanctuary Songs: Live in Omaha, NE, December 1, 2023. The album, which captures an electric night on the Jump for Joy tour, is available exclusively on Bandcamp, and 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the record will benefit BeLoved Asheville. The organization is dedicated to providing aid to those in need in and around Asheville, North Carolina, where they are currently sharing food, water, and other critical supplies with the 100,000+ people affected by Hurricane Helene.

“Western North Carolina is really, really hurting, y’all,” noted M.C. Taylor on his Instagram yesterday when announcing the album’s release. “We don’t even know the half yet, and I’m glad to be able to help.”

Sanctuary Songs is the latest in the long-running series of live Hiss Golden Messenger releases recorded on the Hiss Mobile Recording Unit. In addition to live cuts from Jump for Joy and a deep dive into Taylor’s rich back catalog, the album features a cover of The Grateful Dead’s “Eyes of the World.”
