WHEREAS, Merge Records’ quinquennial music festival begins on Wednesday, July 24:
“I, ROY COOPER, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim July 24–27, 2019,
as ‘MRG30 WEEK’ in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.”
What an honor! The official proclamation, signed by Gov. Cooper and affixed with our state seal, will be framed and hung proudly in our Durham office.

As we do every five years, Merge Records will celebrate our birthday with a summer music festival in North Carolina. MRG30 will take place next week with an amazing line-up of more than 30 bands that celebrate the best of Merge, both present and future!
Visit the official MRG30 page for the full line-up and set times as well as a map that includes every festival venue as well as our favorite restaurants, bars, record stores, bookstores, and other local businesses.
For further reading on the label’s history leading up to MRG30, please check out these features in Indy Week, North Carolina Arts Council, Billboard, and Bandcamp. We’ve also just launched the official MRG30 playlist “Born Under a Good Sign: 30 Years of Merge Records” on Spotify.
Follow and use the #MRG30 hashtag to share your festival experience on social media. Hydrate, get some rest, and we’ll see you soon!
