With Tracyanne & Danny’s premiere North American tour beginning next week, the duo are sharing a music video for single “It Can’t Be Love Unless It Hurts” off their self-titled debut album (out now). Tracyanne Campbell thinks of it as a cross between Carry On and The Shining, and we think that’s perfect!

Director Ed Dougherty on the inspiration behind the shoot:
One of my obsessions is The Amityville Horror. Most people don’t know it was proven to be a hoax, but it was, and the story of how they pulled it off is way more interesting to me than any haunted house story. We made this with a four-person crew in Scotland, with all of us wearing many hats, and three of us appearing in the video as actors.

Tracyanne & Danny’s aforementioned North American tour kicks off next Thursday in Atlanta, with stops in DC, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Toronto, Chicago, and more! A full list of dates can be found below, so mark your calendars accordingly.

Tracyanne & Danny was called “a lovely listen from top to bottom,” by Paste Magazine. “The whole thing is as immaculately crafted and endearingly overcast as the Scottish countryside.” Pick up the album on CD, LP, and Peak Vinyl (with bonus 7-inch) at the band’s merch table or in the Merge store, and listen digitally now.
