Superchunk’s Foolish celebrates its 30th anniversary this month! To mark the occasion, the band announce a new run of fall tour dates, promising a setlist peppered with favorites from the classic 1994 LP.
Of the tour, Mac McCaughan says:
We’re excited to play a bunch of songs from Foolish (and as usual lots of other stuff) in the places where we made the record (Minneapolis and Chicago), some favorite towns we haven’t played in many years (Omaha, Lawrence, New Orleans), and one state where we’ve never played at all—this tour features our first show ever in South Dakota.”
It’s been a busy year for Superchunk, whose “Everybody Dies” b/w “As in a Blender” 7-inch followed hot on the heels of Misfits & Mistakes: Singles, B-sides & Strays 2007–2023. Recently returned from a whirlwind tour of Japan, Superchunk’s 2024 itinerary picks up again on July 25 when they will take the Cat’s Cradle stage at Merge 35, before visiting Portugal for the first time this August! Their celebration of Foolish kicks off October 14 in Columbus, OH, and winds through the Midwest, Great Plains, and the South, including a co-headlining date with Ted Leo & the Pharmacists in Atlanta. Tickets for their October tour dates go on sale Friday, April 26, at 10am local time.
