“Jaded Lover, Shady Drifter” opens No Recover, the harrowing and beautiful new album from Eric Bachmann, out September 7 on Merge. Bachmann himself has proclaimed it a favorite of his, a song “about love surviving the impending apocalypse…. I want it to be a positive force.”

ICYMI, press play on No Recover’s title track, a song that Stereogum called “effortlessly gentle and sweet and comforting. But there’s a tired, solemn sadness that sounds like it’s buried somewhere deep within.”

Pre-order No Recover on CD, LP, and limited-edition black and blue swirl Peak Vinyl in the Merge store (with an option to bundle it with an exclusive t-shirt) or through your favorite independent record shop. The album can also be pre-ordered through your preferred digital music service.

Bachmann’s got a lifetime of experience behind him, and a catalog that runs the gamut from fiery to scary to simply beautiful, sometimes all at once. But No Recover also feels like a new beginning.
