Earlier this year, Eric Bachmann revived Crooked Fingers, the beloved outfit responsible for such gems as Bring on the Snakes, Red Devil Dawn, and Breaks in the Armor. Swet Deth, released in February of this year, immediately became one of the great albums in Bachmann’s oeuvre, a return to the energy of full-band collaboration that saw him reach beyond himself in calling on the talents of friends and peers like Sharon Van Etten, Matt Berninger, and Mac McCaughan to guest on songs. In the wake of Swet Deth, Bachmann hit the road for a series of intimate solo performances, his first since an October 2025 health scare. Today, he’s putting the band back together, announcing a run of Crooked Fingers club shows that will kick off this January. As if that’s not enough, Bachmann is also sharing the news that Crooked Fingers’ 2005 stunner Dignity and Shame is receiving a vinyl reprint courtesy of Merge Records, due January 27, 2027.

Dignity and Shame, Bachmann’s fourth full-length album under the Crooked Fingers moniker, has been out-of-print on vinyl since its initial 2005 release. It returns to the format as a remastered 2xLP set complete with two vinyl-exclusive bonus tracks, housed in a gatefold jacket with expanded artwork — treatment befitting an album that has, in the quarter century since its release, been recognized as one of the most striking albums of Bachmann’s career. The Dignity and Shame reissue will be available on black vinyl via Merge Records, and as on limited edition, tour-exclusive opaque red and yellow vinyl from Bachmann himself. The black vinyl edition of the album can be pre-ordered from the Merge store or Crooked Fingers' Bandcamp page!

Crooked Fingers’ 2027 tour kicks off January 29, 2027 in Decatur, GA, with stops in Durham, Boston, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Austin. Not only will fans at those shows get the first crack at the tour-exclusive version of Dignity and Shame, they’ll be the first to hear Swet Deth in full-band splendor. Crooked Fingers’ January and February dates will feature support from Julia Barfield, and March dates will feature Jim Ward. Tickets for all dates go on sale Friday, October 30 at noon local time.
