“I’m a Lover (at Close Range)” is the new film-45 spectacular from rock ’n’ roll non-conformist Escape-ism. Co-directed by underground filmmaker Alexandra Cabral and Escape-ism main man Ian Svenonius, the Super 8 epic is a dualistic split-screen smash-’em-up that juxtaposes the contemporary linear web-world (digital/binary) with the cyclical Earth we once inhabited (clocks, tides, menstrual cycles, etc.). No need to choose sides; experience both:

Following “Bodysnatcher” and “Nothing Personal,” “Close Range” is the third visual from Cabral for the highly conceptual The Lost Record, arguably the first-ever record that talks to the listener in the first person. Svenonius recently expounded on this very subject and more for the Washington Post.

The Lost Record was released via Merge on September 7 as the follow-up to debut full-length Introduction to Escape-ism. Listen today on your preferred digital media service, and find your copy in the Merge store or at one of Escape-ism’s electrifying shows this autumn.
