Out today, Dawn Richard’s “Jacuzzi (J Rick Remix)” from the New Orleans artist’s acclaimed new album Second Line. This remix builds on Dawn’s mission to bring pioneering women into the electronic music space. “Jacuzzi” is one of the leading songs on the album loved by fans for its raw, gritty uptempo pace. It is a celebration of body positivity, femininity and sexuality while also more simply defined as a straight banger. The remix, delivered by London-based musician and producer J Rick, samples the iconic vocals of Super Beagle’s “Dust a Sound Boy,” a secret sauce perfect for the sweaty days of late summer. It takes the record even higher with its dancehall riddim and sound clash vibe and is a must add for your summer playlist now!

Producer J Rick has released some of London's strangest, lithest rap tracks in recent years. Listen to his debut mixtape, last year’s No Retreat No Surrender, and you’ll hear a shape-shifting approach to genre that encompasses jazz, house, garage, soul, and hip hop, without ever settling for one definition.“Working with Dawn was super easy. We just bounced off each other and caught a vibe. Good energy makes good music,” shares J Rick.

This remix follows her first official remix of “Bussifame” by her former Bad Boy family members Felix Da Housecat and Dave The Hustler.

Second Line is one of the most critically acclaimed albums of the year receiving abundant praise and landing on some of the most respected Best Of The Year lists out. Find Second Line in the Merge store, and don't miss Dawn Richard on tour this fall with Purity Ring!
