It’s been a long time coming, but Australian post-punk powerhouses Cable Ties are set to return to touring this February, joining hardcore icons OFF! on a string of dates in Europe and the UK. To celebrate the occasion, the group is sharing “Perfect Client,” a searing, personal critique of society’s refusal to care for those in need. Listen to and share “Perfect Client” now.

“Perfect Client” is a more inward-facing song than the ones that featured on their 2020 Merge debut Far Enough, but it is no less of a call to arms. As guitarist and singer Jenny McKechnie explains:

“Perfect Client” is about the inability of the health care system to care for someone who experiences addiction and complex mental health problems. It voices the frustration I have felt watching someone close to me go in and out of detox, rehab, and hospitalisation over many years.

With this tour, Cable Ties look to reclaim the mantle of being one of the most incendiary live acts on any continent. Need proof? Watch their 2020 performance from A Secret Location Studios on the Merge YouTube page, then pick your jaw up off the floor and buy a ticket, or sign up to see them for free when they headline London’s Sebright Arms on February 9.
