Today, Bob Mould announces a new series of Solo Electric performances, building upon the critical acclaim of this year’s full-length album release Sunshine Rock. Fresh off a successful run of North American solo dates, Mould will bring his vast and varied songbook to three festivals in Germany and the UK, then continue on to the Northeast beginning January 17 in Fall River, MA. Will Johnson (formerly of Centro-Matic) will support all January 2020 dates.

For a sneak preview, watch Bob Mould Solo Electric live from Berlin’s RadioEins, who called the performance “a striking example of how much Bob Mould enjoys his time in Berlin. Whether with band or solo, to see Bob Mould on the stage of the park festival is a sensation!”

“The past few months have been both busy and exciting,” says Mould. “It’s great to be back on the road, I’ve got a lot of momentum, and with this run of dates I’m bringing my louder solo show into venues I’ve not played before.”

A recent highlight for Mould was his fiery guest appearance at Richard Thompson’s 70th Birthday Celebration at Royal Albert Hall, playing and singing on Thompson’s “Turning of the Tide” as well as Sugar’s “If I Can’t Change Your Mind.”

“To be asked to perform with Richard was both an honor and a privilege. To be associated with musicians like David Gilmour, Loudon Wainwright III, and Hugh Cornwell was quite humbling. And, who doesn’t have fun playing at Albert Hall?”

In addition, Mould and his explosive rhythm section (bassist Jason Narducy and drummer Jon Wurster) returned to Chicago in mid-September for the 15th anniversary of Riot Fest. This was their third appearance at the flagship location, and their fifth Riot Fest in the past six years.

Sunshine Rock is available now and features the singles “What Do You Want Me to Do,” title track “Sunshine Rock,” and the Euro-charged “Lost Faith.”

Fans can watch behind-the-scenes footage from the recording of the album in the Sunshine Rock Studio Session video. Mould’s Berlin video, in which he shares an intimate portrait of his life in the German city, can be viewed here.

Also from the Sunshine Rock sessions, Mould recently released his cover of the punk band Buzzcocks’ single “I Don’t Mind.”

Last year, Mould produced the Titus Andronicus album An Obelisk, which was released by Merge on June 21. The band accompanied him on multiple dates for the Sunshine Rock tour.
